Quick Movie Review: Secret Life of Pets 2

Quick Movie Review: Secret Life of Pets 2

Secret Life of Pets was a well-liked movie and of course Illumination would make a sequel. Most of the voice actors have returned except for Louis C.K., Patton Oswalt takes over the role as Max and I think he did a great job.

The movie has a few mini plots within itself, and at times watching Secret Life of Pets 2 I wondered to myself why didn’t they just stick to one plot and make multiple movies. Secret Life of Pets 2 starts off with Max coming to terms with his owner finding love, having a baby and making it his goal to love and protect the little one. It then shifts to Snowball’s rise as a superhero and the high jinx he gets himself into with a white tiger. It then shifts to Max and Duke going on a road trip to a farm owned by Katie’s husband’s uncle. At the farm they meet the rugged sheepdog Rooster who teaches Max to not be afraid of the world around him. And finally, while all this is happening Max left Gidget his beloved bee toy and she ends up losing it to a house filled of cats.

Overall Secret Life of Pets 2 is a fun filled movie for kids who wouldn’t mind or notice the plot point jumps all over the place. Most if not all of the scenes had me and the kids laughing out loud.

Secret Life of Pets 2 will be enjoyed by your little ones and they will be left doubled over in laughter.

Movie Score 7.0/10
